UK Abstraction Licensing 

Through 2024 and into 2025 Flow-5 have been busy securing abstraction licences for sites across the UK. Our team have navigated a range of challenges, from finding inventive ways to monitor sensitive environmental receptors to operating in remote locations and managing tight timelines.

Highlights have included successful outcomes for a number of distilleries in Scotland (including Islay and Speyside) and sites in the industrial and energy sectors with significant water demand.

Our clients benefit from direct access to experienced hydrogeologists who are able to oversee every stage of the installation, testing and licencing of a new water supply, from initial scoping through to impact assessments and ongoing monitoring.

Throughout the process Flow-5 liaise closely with SEPA and the EA to ensure environmental considerations and regulatory compliance are properly managed, ensuring time-sensitive projects are kept on track.
